How do I measure my head for the correct Akubra hat size?Updated a day ago

Finding the right Akubra hat size is quick and easy. While every Akubra hat is crafted to last and will naturally conform to your head over time, starting with the correct size will ensure the most comfortable fit.

  1. Use a flexible measuring tape. If you don't have one, a piece of string and a ruler will work just as well.
  2. Wrap the tape or string around your head, sitting just above your ears and approximately one finger's width above your eyebrows.
  3. Note the measurement in centimeters. For example, a head measurement of 57cm corresponds to an Akubra size 57.

If your measurement falls between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size.

Akubra hats are designed to mould to your head over time, so a slightly looser fit is ideal. Natural factors such as heat and perspiration may also cause the hat to shrink slightly with wear.

If your hat feels a little loose at first, you can insert hat fibers behind the inner band. These can be removed later as the hat gradually conforms to your shape. Your hat should feel secure enough to stay on in the wind, but never tight or uncomfortable.
